R.S. Mallari

Chained Freedom

You can breathe
But don't make it long
You can Cheat
Better never prolong

Play the game
But never winning
Who to blame
When you're whining

Rock may roll
'neath your bare feet
Pleasure crawl
Happiness never meant

All alone cry
Regrets flashing fast
Tears never dry
Heart and mind clash

Feather so light
Yet you're not flying
Earned not flight
Forever ashamed laying

Drag to pit
Soul never returning
Under six feet
You are never fleeing

About R.S. Mallari

Through poetry I am trying to break the barriers of ethnicity, cultures and even beliefs for we humans have the same emotions, the same desires and aspirations. We may differ in colors, in language, and food that we eat yet we are still living under the same sun, swimming and sailing on the same seas and sleeping under the same stars.

It certainly makes you think - I've read my way through a lot of your site now and my head is hurting - making people think is real power - well done!

Thank you so much for your compliment Glen. So you have found this a bit sad poem, I know you got the message.. "Dilemma". In every choices that we make, we always give up something else.

Through poetry we can inspire others, we can make someone smile and words can make others cry be it of joy or sadness.
