R.S. Mallari

Longest Night-Pantoum

The whole night I am awake
Thinking of when we can play
Near the swing beside the lake
Hear every word that you say

Thinking of when we can play
With you my baby, I cannot wait
Hear every word that you say
Before you grow old, it’s too late

With you my darling, I cannot wait
Longing for your warm embrace
Before you grow old, it’s too late
See that sweet smile on your face

Longing for your warm embrace
Now that for two years I’m away
See that sweet smile on your face
God knows, and to Him this I pray

I long for us to be alone
Near the swing beside the lake
Until the day I’m finally home
The whole night I am wake

About R.S. Mallari

Through poetry I am trying to break the barriers of ethnicity, cultures and even beliefs for we humans have the same emotions, the same desires and aspirations. We may differ in colors, in language, and food that we eat yet we are still living under the same sun, swimming and sailing on the same seas and sleeping under the same stars.

Through poetry we can inspire others, we can make someone smile and words can make others cry be it of joy or sadness.
