R.S. Mallari

Me and Minorie (Balagtasan)

Me:

Dagger through the heart
Poisons the mind
Spirit crumbles..

Minorie:

dagger through the heart,
though it pierces deep,
it shall heal on its own...
poison to the mind,
fogged as it may be,
it still thinks for you...
spirit crumbles,...
fall and hurt,
but yer spirit
allow not to break!!!!!

Me:

for I am mortal,
emotions in upheaval,
hard to control
when down, is your morale.

Minorie:

weaknesses, a mortal has
and emotions, break us apart
but weakness has its opposite
I can spell it out...
S T R E N G T H, am sure u have...

Me:

even pressure tank has its limit
every mountain has its summit
sometimes things cannot be rebuilt
with just a mere stitch.

Minorie:

mountains have summits,
so we can be atop it and feel GREAT
things cannot be rebuilt,
but we can make BETTER ones
pressure tanks have limits,
but YOU AS A PERSON
has boundless OPTIONS

Me:

potentials are enormous when unrestrained
but when both hands are tied and chained
options are limited even to saints
more so with someone emotionally deranged

Minorie:

from emotional turmoil,
unrestraint yerself,
it's at these moments that,
all we need to do
Is KNEEL and look UP..

About R.S. Mallari

Through poetry I am trying to break the barriers of ethnicity, cultures and even beliefs for we humans have the same emotions, the same desires and aspirations. We may differ in colors, in language, and food that we eat yet we are still living under the same sun, swimming and sailing on the same seas and sleeping under the same stars.

Huzaifa thanks for dropping by,
In our country there is a tradition wherein two or more will argue in a poetic manner, we call it Balagtasan in honor of the great Filipino poet Francisco Balagtas.

Through poetry we can inspire others, we can make someone smile and words can make others cry be it of joy or sadness.
