R.S. Mallari

Will I take the long road? I cannot stay.

Barren land, a long road ahead
It will start with the first step
Momentum you must achieve
Rev up your spirit, gain speed

Dump all unnecessary burdens
Fuel yourself with aspirations
Gear up, look upon the horizon
Heart, mind and soul in unison

It’s not easy as air will drag you
Re-engineer yourself, renew
Befriend the wind, slice through
Feel the rush, enjoy the view

A long road, reach for the finish
Look back, not too long, just glimpse
Aim for the other side, don’t miss
One shot is all you’ve got, don’t waste

“The longest journey is the journey inwards. Of him who has chosen his destiny, Who has started upon his quest for the source of his being.” -Dag Hammarskjold

About R.S. Mallari

Through poetry I am trying to break the barriers of ethnicity, cultures and even beliefs for we humans have the same emotions, the same desires and aspirations. We may differ in colors, in language, and food that we eat yet we are still living under the same sun, swimming and sailing on the same seas and sleeping under the same stars.

I like the positivity coming through these words. A good 'get up and go' feel.

Very true, the journey is inwards and with that everything else follows. You have a very beautiful blog here hitting a lot of universal truths. :)

Thanks Ana, I'm very flattered. In my own little ways I hope I can inspire others.

Through poetry we can inspire others, we can make someone smile and words can make others cry be it of joy or sadness.
