Spare Me a Moment

Throw me the ball I won’t duck
Deliver a joke I will try to laugh
But let me shed my tears for a while

Call me tomorrow, I’ll answer back
For sure, tonight is better than last night
But give me space, let me contemplate

Shot of liquor that would be nice
I’ll converse with you with bits of lies
No don’t ask, I won’t tell you why

Part of life it is, but don’t I have right?
To be upset is part of who I am
So let me just bear it and walk a mile

No! Don’t be alarmed, I’ll be alright
Just don’t ever dare block my path
Won’t be long, I’ll be out of this trap

About R.S. Mallari

Through poetry I am trying to break the barriers of ethnicity, cultures and even beliefs for we humans have the same emotions, the same desires and aspirations. We may differ in colors, in language, and food that we eat yet we are still living under the same sun, swimming and sailing on the same seas and sleeping under the same stars.

Through poetry we can inspire others, we can make someone smile and words can make others cry be it of joy or sadness.
