Reach for the Summit

downhill, being dragged by gravity
frustrations on my back
worn-out, almost on my knees
I need to stand up
the summit I long to see
and breathe air at the top

I travelled far and wide
stumbled and cried
far places I have reached
with sweat I did drench
I’ve watched rivers run dry
been with the fireflies

this journey is at its peak
strength I will seek
no matter how hard
even if it’ll cause me my blood
I will get through the pit
with smile on my lips
